Cormac Ryan 
Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Ryan was appointed Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Pepper Ireland with effect from October 2017 where he is responsible for all aspects of the Irish business performance. Cormac, in collaboration with the Board of Directors is responsible for developing the company’s short and long term strategic direction, setting corporate objectives, establishing corporate policies and procedures, creating and implementing the business plan and achieving targeted profitability. Cormac is also a member of the Global EXCO which has oversight of the Group’s operations.

Cormac has over 20 years international experience in financial services joining Pepper from Ulster Bank where he held senior positions including as Chief Operating Officer of RBS Capital Resolution Ireland and Customer Debt Solutions unit.

Prior to that Cormac held leadership positions at diversified financial services firms including RBS and UBS in London and Dublin where he led large multi-disciplinary teams of several hundred people. He has extensive knowledge and experience across a range of specialist areas including Finance, Technology, Operations, General Management, Change Management and BAU processes. Cormac has also held a senior position with Accenture Capital Markets in the UK and spent nine years working with banking clients in the UK and US.

Dermot Caden  
Finance Director

Dermot has over 15 years financial services experience - predominantly in asset management and asset servicing, having held senior finance and commercial roles in both public and private organisations during this time. Prior to joining Pepper ,he was Head of European Fund Services (EMEA) at Virtus Partners, a technology and services company focused on credit orientated asset managers.

He was also a Senior Vice President at GSO Capital Partners (part of the Blackstone Group) responsible for all finance matters in Europe for this division. Prior to joining Blackstone / GSO , he was Finance Director of a large leverage loan asset manager - Harbourmaster Capital Management. He has also worked in Macquarie Bank (Sydney) as well as EY in the early part of his career.

He has a B.Comm (Honours) from University College Dublin and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.

Grainne Naughton 
Head of Mortgage Operations

Grainne Naughton is Head of Mortgage Operations and is responsible for management of our residential mortgage portfolios and execution of portfolio strategies. Grainne has over 20 years financial services experience, across all facets of asset servicing and collections, in a broad range of financial products including mortgages, personal loans, auto, card, commercial and leasing.

Prior to joining Pepper in 2012, Grainne held senior roles in GE Capital including Head of Collections managing conforming and non-conforming portfolios through periods of growth and run-off; and Senior Manager Operations redesigning collections operations, implementing and achieving Service Level Agreements across multiple products. Grainne is Six Sigma Greenbelt trained.

Mike Byron 
Head of Strategic Projects

Appointed in August 2013 as Head of Strategic Projects Mr. Byron is responsible for change management of all strategic projects impacting the business. Mike’s remit includes management of Project Management, Business Design and Test teams.

Prior to joining Pepper, Mike was Head of Business Solutions at IBRC where he had direct responsibility for Project Management, Business Design, Business Process Design, QA and Budget teams.

Previously Mike was Customer Services Director and Co-founder at payments provider Altamedius where he was involved in product development, securing external funding and the setup and growth of a Professional Services division prior to their acquisition by Qpass Inc., a leading US digital commerce payment processor.

Mike holds a BSc. In Financial Information Systems and PfMP®, PgMP®, PMP®, PMI-ACP® and PRINCE2 project management certifications. .

Patricia Dardis 
Head of Compliance & Operational Risk

Patricia Dardis is Head of Compliance & Operational Risk. She is responsible for the development and maintenance of the compliance programme and the risk management framework for Pepper in Ireland, ensuring it is integrated into all business functions. In addition to responsibility for advising on regulatory matters and providing ongoing monitoring and testing of regulatory and operational risk across the business, Patricia and her team play an active role in the on-boarding and integration of new client portfolios. She is also the Money Laundering Reporting Officer and Data Protection Officer.

With over 15 years’ experience in financial services, Patricia has expertise across the relevant compliance and regulatory frameworks for mortgage and other finance and loan products for both consumers and SMEs. Prior to joining Pepper in 2012, she held senior roles in GE Capital including Head of Compliance, Head of Insurance (sales) and various operations management roles.

Patricia holds a first class honours MBA from UCD and a Professional Diploma in Compliance with LCOI designation.
Orla McCarthy 
Head of Human Resources

Orla McCarthy is the Head of Human Resources and is responsible for designing and implementing people strategies to deliver the business objectives, with particular focus on talent acquisition and management, leadership and talent development, and transformational change management. Orla has over 11 years of financial services experience in a broad range of financial products including mortgage, personal loans, auto, commercial and leasing in both growth and run off business cycles.

Prior to joining Pepper in 2012, Orla held a number of senior roles in GE Capital including HR Leader, Organisation and Staffing Leader and HR Manager. Prior to this Orla spent a number of years specializing in International HR and holds qualifications in CIPD, MBTI, Eqi and is a PMP.

Barry Gammell 
Head of IT

Mr. Gammell was promoted to Head of IT for Pepper Ireland in July 2017. In his role Barry has accountability for leading the overall operational and strategic management of IT and for identifying and developing opportunities that give the company competitive advantage and deliver real commercial value. In partnership with Exco and the Global IT team Barry also has responsibility for developing an integrated IT strategy to support the strategic development of the global business.

Barry has over 15 years’ experience of leading professional services delivery teams. Barry joined Pepper in September 2016 from AXA Insurance where he held the role of IT Systems Manager and prior to that he spent almost 12 years with SoftCo, a provider of financial process automation solutions where Barry was Commercial Operations Manager leading a team of 25 people. Barry Holds a BSc. in Maths and Physics, a Higher Diploma in Applied Physics and an Advanced IT Project Management Certificate.

Ian Wigglesworth 
Head of Commercial Real Estate

Ian Wigglesworth is Head of Commercial Mortgages with responsibility for all Commercial Real Estate Servicing portfolios and Pepper Money’s Commercial Lending platform launched in June 2017. Ian joined Pepper in May 2014 with over 14 years Banking experience. Prior to joining Pepper, Ian was Senior Recoveries Manager at Bank of Ireland where he was responsible for the management of a legal and recovery loan portfolio with a key focus on de-leveraging.

Before that Ian was with Irish Bank Resolution Corporation (IBRC) responsible for the management of a large loan portfolio consisting of property and trading related debt ranging from €5m to €150m, he was also involved in the initial set up of the recovery unit in IBRC. Ian is a Qualified Financial Advisor and also holds a Diploma in Insolvency from the Chartered Accountants of Ireland.
